My First Trip to Las Vegas | Photographers Wedding MBA Convention

In the month of September, I attended the Wedding MBA Convention held in Las Vegas. This was my first time visiting the lavish city. Before catching the monorail to attend morning seminar classes, naturally I had to stop and take a few photos. After the seminars, I got a chance to visit most of the popular hotels and see what all the hype was about. Needless to say, it wasn't what I thought it would be. I didn't see all the crazy people - crazy outfits and outlandish personalities. What I did see were tons of families and tourists. Don't get me wrong, this wasn't why I went but EVERYBODY I know has been to Vegas and everyone talked about all the stuff they saw. Well....I didn't see anything. I'll give Vegas the benefit of the doubt and visit one more time :) Personally, I thought the hotels were strategically built and gorgeous. I just wished I had tons of money to buy everything I saw. I stayed in the Mirage hotel and the amenities were outstanding. Since I'm a photographer, I had to capture a few images of some of the famous hotels (within walking distance of my hotel) with my camera. Above and below are some of my favorites.

Happy Birthday President Barack Obama

Happy Birthday President Barack Obama. I believe you are celebrating 53-years of birth. Since your presidency – two terms – you have changed the lives of millions in this country. Most of which I’m sure you know you aren’t getting a pat on the back either. Please know that God put you in this position not only to make a difference but to be a witness for him. We may not get the glory for what we do but there is truth in knowing that nothing in life happens by chance. There is a purpose for us all. None of God’s plans fall on rocky soil. Many lives have been sacrificed, lost and even continue to fight for equal rights for the just. It’s evident that God has ordained you as a vessel to lead this country to prosperity. We all know that until Jesus Christ comes to rescue us from this land we call earth, our fight for justice, equality and human dignity will continue. You are only a vessel – like many before you – who were called upon to lead our country. I applaud you for all your efforts.

The above photo was taken before you took office when you came to Kansas City, MO and spoke during a Pep Rally at the Marriott-Muehlbach Hotel. I was one of many photographers who was fortunate to be in the same room with you. If I never get a chance to meet you face to face, this photo will be my hand shake to you. You and I both share the same birth month and are both left-handed individuals. LOL.  My birthday isn’t until the 10th so we are in close proximity.

Happy Birthday again and many blessings to you and your family.

Sydney's Grand Finale | Studio M's Dance Recital

Several weeks ago, Sydney, 5 years old, took to the stage and danced in their end of year dance recital at the Studio M Dance Studio in Belton, MO. The theme was "Dance, Dance, Dance". She participated in three routines. All I can say is that her smile is darn contagious. You can't help but smile and want to hug her - just by looking at her. I couldn't tell if she was nervous dancing in front of over 100 guests. I was more nervous for her. Every routine she grinned and smiled from ear to ear. After the show, I asked her if she was nervous and she said "no". I took tons and tons of photos and this is no joke...every last one of them she has the same big ole grin. The program lasted about two hours. Love you dearly Sydney Gabrielle - you made daddy, mommy, Andrew, and grandma proud. Thank you Studio M for all your hard work. Sydney will be back next year :)

President Barack Obama Re-Elected | Four More Years

Many called this presidential race as a very close race and that it was. November 6, 2012, President Barack Obama is proclaimed the Democratic winner and our re-elected President of the United States in the 2012 Presidential Race over Republican Gov. Mitt Romney. The photos above and below were from Sen. Obama's Pep Rally here in Kansas City on May 12, 2007 as he was campaigning for president. This was the closest I was able to get to him but what an indeed a pleasure. History books are continued to be re-written.

Joe and Lyfe Jennings in Concert at The Midland

This past Sunday some of you may have flocked at The Midland to see R&B legend Joe, Lyfe Jennings and local talents of Jackie Michaels and LeVelle aka LB perform on stage. I have have always been a Joe fan but didn't know Lyfe Jennings until the night before the concert. I hardly ever listen to the radio or satellite radio so what else is there....iTunes! When I listened to some of Lyfe's music, I got to give it up to him - his music isn't bad...actually I like it. When I got home, I downloaded a few of his hits.

Levelle, aka, "LB" opened up the concert passing out roses to the ladies in the front row. Sexy and soulful Jackie Michaels opened up before Lyfe Jennings and she put on a show. I must put in a plug in for myself first. The main image on her website and the promotional image on the weekend concert flyer was taken by yours truly. Needless, she put it down!

I think the most thrilling part of the concert were the flub ups from the Lyfe Jennings and/or the sound mixers. While on stage Lyfe complained that the sound wasn't right and the music was keyed correctly. Personally, I thought everything was okay - but who am I? All I can say, several boo'd him after he walked off the stage after only performing about 20 min. He even sat down on stool and let the crowd sing to him while one of his ballads were playing. Were the guests jipped?

Joe, put on a great show and even got called back out on stage for a encore.

As you could see from the images, you will noticed that I was constrained to one side of the stage. It wasn't by choice. I could only wish I could stand below center-stage to get some face-front images but because of the chairs in the front row, I was forced to 45-degree angle photos. Backstage photos with Joe were not allowed either per his manager :(

Hope you all like the powerful images.

COMING SOON: 'Princess' Addison Tiffany | Three Generations of Love | A Celebration of The Birth of Their First Born

My good friends Torrance and Callie asked me to come out to their home and document part of history and a new beginning in their home. Both celebrated the birth of their first child, Addison Tiffany, mid August of this year. (Strong Leo's such as myself - LOL - just had to throw that in their). What made this session special is because Callie's mother has been in town to embrace her second grandchild and naturally spoil her. I love both Torrance and Callie and wish them nothing but an abundance of love and blessings from God. Some of you may remember I was a groomsmen in their wedding two years ago. I have no doubt lil Miss Addison will be spoiled to no end.

These are a few of my favorite...more to come soon.
