Lindsey + Jordan Engagement

Although 2009 is drawing to a close, this is usually the busiest time of the year for us. Mainly because our preceding year brides are scheduling their engagement sessions to take advantage of the Fall foliage.

Lindsey and Jordan was our first 2010 bride and groom who scheduled their e-session. Thanks to the both of them, I learned some really cool locations for photos after living in Lee’s Summit for five years. It’s amazing what you will find in your own back-door.

Now to the good part….

This session was different for me and I’m sure will be different for you all. Would you believe that Lindsey and Jordan’s parents accompanied us in some of their photos? This was a first for me. Needless to say, both set of parents are way too cool. They seem to be the type of parents you could hang out with your friends. It is evident that every one gets along very well. Although we braved the cold weather and broke away from the Sunday afternoon Chiefs game, we got some really fun images.

Their wedding will take place in mid-June of 2010.

Kristina + Jeremy | September 26

Kristina and Jeremy were all giddy on their wedding day both couldn’t wait to finally begin a new life together and to finally associate each other as “husband and wife”. It warms my heart every wedding that I photograph to witness the amazing moments each bride and groom share just before they walk down the aisle. Often, I want to relive my wedding day just because I get butterflies at every wedding. For those that have not been married and even for those that are married, a lot goes on the day of the wedding. Emotions are high, mothers are nervous, fathers try their best to be calm and many friends render marriage / ball & chain jokes as if that’s suppose to keep you calm. However for Kristina and Jeremy, I was amazed how cool and calm they were. I didn’t see anything that could have stolen their anticipation to commit.

If nothing else, I’m just excited to be their photographer. Congratulations to both of you and I hope that you enjoy your wedding images.

Derrick Senior Session

Derrick is a senior at Lee's Summit West High School. Amongst being a dedicated student, he also is a "football jock". He plays tight-end for the LSW Titans. Last year, the team won the state championship and he wears his LSW letter jacket and ring well. I just wish I was athletic enough to earn a championship ring.

Meet the Ekstrom's

I found this neat little log cabin house not to far from my home on private property. Naturally I had to get permission and the owners allowed me to take the Ekstrom’s family photo in front of it. They wanted something different rather than your typical park and forest type family photos.

Kara + Kyle | September 18

September 18 was a long day for us but very enjoyable. Our morning started early morning at Kara’s parent’s house where she got dressed for her spectacular wedding day. Kara and Kyle didn’t want to see each other until they had their special first-time moment at Kauffman Memorial Gardens. When the limo arrived at the house, Kyle sat in the front seat and the rest of the wedding party rode in the back. Unbelievably, Kara and Kyle didn’t see other until they got out of the limo. I’m just surprised that Kyle didn’t find an urge to sneak a peek.

The wedding and reception took place at Lee Andrew Hall & Garden in Blue Springs, MO. This place is gorgeous! The wedding was held out doors in the garden and the reception indoors. When the party started, EVERYONE let their hair down and partied! I thought that I was at a college party just because the guests didn’t get off the dance floor. Kudos to “Berry Good Light and Sound” for keeping the party alive.

Kara and Kyle were surrounded by so many loved ones – some that came out to celebrate their nuptials before being shipped off to war, childhood friends and relatives that had been married over 50-years. It warmed my heart to see so much love in one room. The evening ended around 11:30 pm.

Congratulations Kara and Kyle.
