Meet Baby Asa

Carri, a bride who's wedding I photographed in 2005, called me a couple of weeks ago to inform me that she and her husband, Darryl, are proud parents of a baby boy - Asa. Of course she wanted to schedule a special lifestyle photo session with Asa in their home. He was less than a month old at the time of the session. Below is a custom birth announcement that I created and a couple of other images.

Real quick...I must share that after 30 minutes into the session, mother-nature called (#1 of course). Ha, Ha....boys will be boys.

Thank you Carri for remembering me and giving me this opportunity.

Shall We Dance?

I do my best to keep my loyal readers up to date on what's transpiring in our world. So pardon my tardiness with this posting. Last week, I took a step out of the norm and responded to a call who wanted us to photograph their dance students. Indeed this is a step out of bounds from weddings, senior portraits, corporate events and maternity pics. These local KCMO kids are enthusiastic about dance and take it seriously.

Hopefully this will open doors for other opportunities...hmmm

Till next time...

- Sam

Monica + Gary | May 22, Lawrence, KS

Normally when you attend a wedding it's customary to see laughter, tears of joy and lots of smiles. Monica and Gary's wedding exceeded the norm just a little bit. While photographing their wedding I noticed obsessive amounts of un-staged kissing, hugging, and tears of joy not just from the bride and groom but from parents and friends as well. The energy they exerted was felt by all. I learned that both have touching lifestyle stories (I won't go into that) but I will say that from what I did hear is the way Gary proposed to Monica was very unique. Many blessings to you both.

Thank you Rev. Delmar A. White for the referral.

Ceremony: Plymouth Congregational Church
Reception: Knights of Columbus - Lawrence Council 1372
Transportation: Hobson's Limousine & Transportation, Inc.

Monica had two pairs of shoes to wear on her wedding day. The white ones were for the wedding ceremony and the fuchsia ones were for the reception.

This is a framed card has a long story but was used to propose to Monica.
All throughout the reception, these are the type of smiles Monica had throughout the evening.
