Comica + Bryan | Wedding Teasers

I know I'm jumping the gun on this but because Comica is somewhat a long time family friend, I am posting a few photos from she and Bryan's wedding on Saturday, July 24. The day started out hot but later in the day the rain poured. Our plans were to travel to an off site location for bridal party photos but we opted to take all the photos inside the church.

More photos will come in the coming week.

792 Weddings and Counting

This past Saturday, I photographed my 792nd wedding in my 22-years of being in business. Some can't believe that I've been in business that long. I actually started the company when I graduated from high school and never put down my camera. From 35mm, to medium format, and now to digital; my business has evolved into a business that I'm proud of. I know this may not be a major milestone like the number 100, 500, or 1,000 but I'm all bubbly on the inside just because in this tough economy, God still allows me to impact couples across the country. Through my adventure, I have traveled to several states photographing weddings and it's my inspiration to travel out of the country. I know that opportunity will come and I can't wait. Thank you all for allowing me to document the new beginnings in your life whether its weddings, pregnancy photos, baby photos, senior photos and even corporate events. It's my goal to make Royal Photography, LLC a household name.

I will let you all know when I reach 1,000.

Till next time...

Karen + Dave | July 17 Wedding

In my FB posting and previous blog posting, you all saw that I was excited and was preparing myself for just about anything from Karen and Dave's wedding. Dave fooled me totally. What I did find out is that Dave didn't have any trouble expressing how he felt about his bride. Dave and his children, shared many tears of happiness during the entire ceremony. Those tears prompted many of the guests to share in the same joy.

Karen's dress had more sentimental meaning than most. The lace in her dress was taken from her mother's wedding dress.

Because Karen and Dave met at a local establishment, the entire wedding party stopped off for drinks at Coach's Bar & Grill just before heading to the reception.

At every wedding I always learn something that I didn't know about the couple. What I did find out is that I went to college with Dave's best man. Then I found out that Dave went to the same college. Talk about six degrees of separation.

Some of the wedding details are:

Ceremony: Holy Spirit Catholic Church
Reception: Crowne Plaza - Lenexa, KS
Transportation: Luxury Limousine
Entertainment: DC Entertainment

Dave's daughter simply adores Karen.

Trey + Anne | July 10 Wedding

Anne and Steven, aka “Trey”, were just a treasure to work with – the enthusiasm they evoked carried over to all that were present. Both have a inner charm that is contagious.

Anne found us online via The Knot and said that the reason she booked us was because of the prestigious “The Knot Best of Weddings” award we received in ’08 and ’09. Most of our communication was with her mother due to the fact that the bride and groom didn’t live here in the greater Kansas City area. I didn’t meet Anne and Trey until the engagement session and then again the day of the wedding. Needless to say, her mother was a blast – she leaned on my professional opinion for several ideas regarding the wedding day itinerary.

Every wedding has a notable theme – Anne and Trey’s reception was centered around notable 1930, 1940, and 1950 icons. Every table and place setting had its own name. I’m not sure if this was because Anne is a natural history buff.

There are several moments to brag about but one of the best moments that I can remember was during the reception. The DJ allowed Anne to get behind the turn-tables and do a little mixing & scratching. Hilarious!!! I know not too many DJ’s will allow this sort of behavior but somehow it happened. Anne…you rocked the house!

Thank you Anne and Trey for a night I will remember forever. Thank you Courtney for helping out.

Some of the wedding details are:

Ceremony: Cathedral of Immaculate Conception
Reception: The Sawyer Room
Transportation: Pech Limousine

Father of the bride and her brother wait patiently in the preparation room at the President Hotel for Anne.

Dad getting the close is clear call from mother of the bride.

A great shot from Tailese as the father of the bride shows off his cufflinks just before walking down the aisle.
A few of the junior groom and ring bearers arent' camera shy.
Trey is all grins as Anne walks through the door.
A great balcony shot from Courtney.

Another great shot by Tailese.

The driver was so cool...he popped the bottle of champagne for the bride and groom.
