Happy Birthday President Barack Obama
Happy Birthday President Barack Obama. I believe you are celebrating 53-years of birth. Since your presidency – two terms – you have changed the lives of millions in this country. Most of which I’m sure you know you aren’t getting a pat on the back either. Please know that God put you in this position not only to make a difference but to be a witness for him. We may not get the glory for what we do but there is truth in knowing that nothing in life happens by chance. There is a purpose for us all. None of God’s plans fall on rocky soil. Many lives have been sacrificed, lost and even continue to fight for equal rights for the just. It’s evident that God has ordained you as a vessel to lead this country to prosperity. We all know that until Jesus Christ comes to rescue us from this land we call earth, our fight for justice, equality and human dignity will continue. You are only a vessel – like many before you – who were called upon to lead our country. I applaud you for all your efforts.
The above photo was taken before you took office when you came to Kansas City, MO and spoke during a Pep Rally at the Marriott-Muehlbach Hotel. I was one of many photographers who was fortunate to be in the same room with you. If I never get a chance to meet you face to face, this photo will be my hand shake to you. You and I both share the same birth month and are both left-handed individuals. LOL. My birthday isn’t until the 10th so we are in close proximity.

President Barack Obama Re-Elected | Four More Years
Many called this presidential race as a very close race and that it was. November 6, 2012, President Barack Obama is proclaimed the Democratic winner and our re-elected President of the United States in the 2012 Presidential Race over Republican Gov. Mitt Romney. The photos above and below were from Sen. Obama's Pep Rally here in Kansas City on May 12, 2007 as he was campaigning for president. This was the closest I was able to get to him but what an indeed a pleasure. History books are continued to be re-written.

Royal Photography | Archive Hall of Fame

I woke up this morning with the idea of digging out of my archive several "famous" folk that I have met and photographed over the years. At the moment I was only able to pull out a few images from 2004, 2006 and 2007. I was afforded all of these images and opportunities from the Missouri State Post and Kansas State Globe newspapers. I was their official photographer and often traveled to document several special events. The majority were from various St. Louis Gateway Classic Sports Foundation weekend activities; if I recall, I photographed that event every year for 10 years.
Stay tuned, as I will be posting more images from my Archive Hall Of Fame in the coming months.
In 2007 I had the pleasure of photographing Olympian Jackie Joyner-Kersee and Debbye Turner, Miss America 1990 at the St. Louis Gateway Classic Sports Foundation Lifetime Achievement Awards dinner.

OBAMA | Mr. President!
Tuesday night, November 4, was one of the most historical moments in U.S. history. Barack Obama was elected the first black president of the United States. In the 2008 United States Presidential election he won 53% of the popular vote, and 349 electoral votes to rival John McCain's 46% of the popular vote and 173 electoral votes.
Over 125,000 Chicago citizens of all nationalities packed the park to hear Barack’s victory speech. All I can say is that I WISH I was there. However, watching the excitement, tears, smiles, and joy on the faces of our fellow Americans on television could be felt all through out my home. My son, Andrew, 3 ½ years old, ran through the house screaming “Obama”! Tailese and I just looked at each other with amazement. Now it's our responsibility as parents to enrich the minds of Andrew and Sydney (our children) on this monumental event.
Forty-years ago, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. was assassinated fighting for equal rights in our country – not just for African-Americans but for all races. He and his family sacrificed their lives in overcoming racism. One can only imagine what he and his wife, Coretta, are saying from the heavens above. I received an email today that depicted a cartoon sketch of Dr. King overlooking the clouds – stretching out his right arm and saying, “Crispus Attucks fell so that Rosa Parks could sit, Rosa Parks sat so that Dr. Martin Luther King could march, Dr. Martin Luther King marched so that Barack Obama could run, and Barack Obama is running so that our children and grandchildren can fly.." I believe that 40-years later that God has shown his face an given all races “hope” and belief that we as people can put aside race and the color of our skin to follow a man in giving new direction to our country.
Last year in 2007, I got an opportunity to get photos of Barack Obama when he came to Kansas City (Marriott Muelbach Hotel) for a Get Out The Vote Pep Rally; shortly after he announced his candidacy for U.S. President. Several of you made comments on types of photos that I photographed and even purchased copies. “I thank you” and glad that I was there to document history.
Last month in October, Barack’s wife, Michelle Obama, visited Kansas City, MO in our 18th & Vine Jazz District for Get Out The Vote Rally and over 3,000 supporters packed 18th & Vine to encourage others to vote, make history, and support her husband to turn our country around. I was present during that rally and again many of you posted comments about the photos and even purchased photos. THANK YOU!
President-Elect Barack Obama and the soon to be first-family will occupy our nations White House for the first time as the First Family January 20, 2009. Let’s all support our new president and make a change in our country! ◦

Michelle Obama in KC | Change We Need
This afternoon Michelle Obama, wife of democratic presidential candidate, Sen. Barack Obama, attended a "get out the vote" rally in the historic jazz district (18th & Vine) of Kansas City, MO. Over 4,000 democratic supporters packed the streets to hear Michelle encourage citizens to register and vote in this historic presidential election.
During the rally, I stood next to political news reporter, Michael Mahoney, of KMBC TV-9. Professional photographers, amateur photographers, news stations, and radio broadcasters flanked the press platform to capture a glimpse of Michelle while at the podium.
Many of you probably saw my Barack Obama blog entry when he came to Kansas City last year. I believe that every one in this country knows that no matter what happens in this election, it will be written in our history books that a African-American was the first presidential nominee in U.S. history.
I believe it's a general consensus that our country is in a terrible emotional, economical and political situation. Our country needs a new vision, someone with strong shoulders and willing to allow our heavenly father to rebuild our countries stability. So whom ever you are voting for McCain/Palin or Obama/Biden, listen to your heart and exercise your right to vote!
