My good friend and former pastor, Rev. Delmar A. White and his church, Ninth Street Baptist Church in Lawrence, KS celebrated 150 years of service. From what I learned, the church was erected in 1863 - WOW! The church congregation had week-long activities but on Saturday evening, the church participated in a formal banquet dinner at the
Alvamar Country Club. The guest speaker for the evening was
Dr. Vernon Howard, senior pastor of
Second Baptist Church, KCMO. Sunday morning was their "climax service" where
Dr. Jesse T. Williams, Jr., senior pastor of
Convent Avenue Baptist Church, Harlem, NY.
Congratulations Ninth Street Baptist Church for your steadfast dedication.

I attended 9th Street when I attended the University of Kansas and these pictures capture the love and tradition of this powerful church body. These pictures are amazing...they make me miss "home".
