It's not often that I go to concerts but this was one time that I wanted to go and hear soulful legend, Anthony Hamilton, live on stage at The Midland here in downtown Kansas City, MO. He put on a outstanding show - he sang (no lip singing) all of his greatest hits - for about 45 min or more. The Midland was packed to capacity. The only thing I wish was that I was able to get center-stage instead of stage right & left for photos. Thank goodness I brought my Canon 70-200 USM II 2.8L, Canon 50mm 1.2L lens, the new Canon 1DX and Canon 1D Mark IV. I saw some great images I could have captured if there was room for me down front & center. Before he came on stage, Kansas City's own Jackie Michaels opened up for him as well as local talent, Mali Music. You gotta check out their music.
I've never met Anthony but when I saw him, I didn't know he was my height. LOL...SMH. CD covers and TV will fool you. I say that to say because I'm short and anyone my height will get picked on. Needless, after the concert, I was able to get a quick photo with him - something that I rarely do as I'm normally taking photos of others. He is a very cool and personable person. Thanks Anthony for the photo op. Above and below are some of my favorites from the concert.
Thank you to my brother, David, and friend, Mitch for the opportunity.
Cheers!
