Danielle and Eric Engagement Session in Downtown Kansas City, MO

I met Danielle and Eric while photographing another wedding this year in early April. Do you want to hear something really funny...they are members of my church too and I didn't even know it. So either I'm a bench warmer or non-sociable at my church (Friendship Baptist Church). Needless, Eric is a fine young man who believes in doting on Danielle. Eric still practices chivalry by opening car doors for her and all. This is a practice you rarely see in young men or men today. Big ups Eric!! Danielle, has a bubbly personality that is totally contagious. Both are planning to wed in the Fall of 2012. Stay tuned for the wedding photos.

Lincoln College Preparatory Academy Commencement Ceremony at Kansas City Convention Center

Congratulations to the Class of 2012 from Lincoln College Preparatory Academy. This past Thursday, May 17 at the Kansas City Convention Center - The Great Hall, 91 students completed all the needed courses to earn their diplomas. Just about all the graduates will continue their education in various local and larger universities across the country. What an accomplishment! This was my second year photographing the commencement exercises.

Happy Birthday Andrew | Father and Son Momemt

My oldest son, Andrew, turned the lucky seven last week and we decided to take a photo together as "father and son". Since his birth, I can say that he has grown up to be a very responsible, curagious, eager to please and eager to learn young man. I'm learning from him that if he wants to do everything with perfection which isn't a very bad trait. I love him very much and love the God given responsibility of being his father. Happy Birthday Andrew!

Lincoln College Preparatory Academy Prom 2012 by Royal Photography

I was smitten this year by the lovely couples that participated in Lincoln College Preparatory Academy (LCPA) Prom that was held at Arrowhead Stadium this past Friday night. This year's theme was entitled "Grecian Garden". Above and below are a couple of images to give you a gander on some of the outfits worn.

Jack and Jill of Johnson County Beautillion Inaugural Gala at the Ritz Charles of Overland Park a Success

Nine distinguished and well groomed young men competed in the first inaugural Beautillion hosted by the Johnson County Chapter of Jack and Jill, Inc. This was there first and this was my first in photographing such an event that introduced young men into society. Normally, I have the pleasure of photographing ladies. From all the formal photos to the last dance at the gala, these guys deserved to have the spotlight on them. If you were not present at the gala, you missed an outstanding dinner by the Ritz Charles cooking staff, a well choreographed formal dance, an entertaining party step, a message from KCMO Mayor, Sly James, a special African "rights of passage" ceremony, scholarship presentations, Beau and mother dance. Parents of these nine young men were all moved by this inaugural event.

Thank you Johnson County Chapter of Jack and Jill, Inc. for giving me this opportunity, thank you to the Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity - Independence Alumni Chapter, and thank you Shawn Spry for helping me photograph the event and I look forward to 2013!
