Yesterday, I had the pleasure of meeting Dr. Joycelyn Elders, former U.S. Surgeon General under President Bill Clinton. She was the keynote speaker for the SCLC Community Luncheon held at the Marriott Hotel - Imperial Ballroom. People have said that she is a no-nonsense - tell it like it is person when it comes to health care. Well, they're right! She shoots straight from the hip and let everyone know her views on personal health care and health care education. During the luncheon, two local doctors were recognized for their community support. Dr. Herman Watson received the President's Award and Dr. Jasper Fullard received the Community Service Award.Below are some of the photo highlights.
